Essential Oils and Travel

When my son was 19 years old, he decided to take a gap year before starting college and volunteer in an animal rescue in South America and Costa Rica.

His first trip was to Ecuador for a month. He had a lot of fun, and it was a great experience for him both in learning social skills and being alone independently.

 

Then came the stomach ache.

 

When he came back, after a month he had a stomach ache that would come and go. I made him a blend of the following:

I’m so glad I didn’t give him antibiotics that would have weakened his GI and immune system and disturb the flora in his gastrointestinal tract.

 

You may think that travel is far off, but before you know it, we will hopefully be back in the air, driving and visiting different places. Some have to travel for business, or for an urgent family event, and I wanted to give you a heads up on essential oils and travel.

 

Travel is stressful at times, and could be hard on the body so it’s important to practice mindfulness and grounding by doing conscious breathing. Ginger: Popular with travelers to address nausea or upset stomach caused by motion, as well as ease body aches and stimulate circulation.
